I own a Macbook Pro early 2007 with Mountain LIon 10.6.8 installed. That is the maximum allowed. I am trying to install Wine Bottler but it requires X11 which is only available on Mountain Lion 10.7 and above. Is there an earlier version that I can install which will work on my computer? Is there a work around which will allow me to install Wine Bottler and Ptools? Thank You

Is there something wrong with my GH2?
So I just bought a gh2 off ebay. Bought a 32gb class 10 sd card to accompany it. I uploaded a hack and it works I think. The thing is that pretty often, I am asked to reintall the 1.1 firmware page for the hack? So when I check my photos, it asks. When I turn off my camera and turn it back off, it asks. Is this normal or is something wrong with the internal firmware of the gh2?

HQ3GOP
Hi guys,
here's a new 3-GOP setting for PAL users - right now the setting is adjusted for 24H, HBR/25p, FSH/50i and 720p50 (720p50 is 6-GOP).
It's based on a lot of things I've learnt from @bkmcwd and @driftwood (great guys!!). Actually it's bkmcwd's "Duke Beta 1" with a matrix driftwood once gave to me (back then I called it "high quality"… "HQ"… since it's a sharp matrix). From there on I've fine-tuned the setting…
This is an "overall" setting producing pretty large I-Frames on highly detailed scenes but at the same time it's also very "sensitive" to motion. I think adjusting the ratio of I- and B-Frames for 1080i-modes (25p/50i/30p/60i) is the most complicated thing to solve with 3GOP settings. In this setting I feel the ratio of I- and B-Frames is just right for HBR/25p and FSH/50i - it shows smooth motion but also a pretty much compression-free image when shooting highly detailed scenes (for instance landscapes with wide depth of field). The setting is also very capable of shooting low key scenes (very good quantization, fine & artifact-free "noise" - attachment #1).
Regarding codecs I am not at all an "expert" in any way… this setting is purely the result of "detective work". However, the benchmarks and the actual footage look really good.
With Auto-anything turned off the setting runs stable in 24H, HBR/25p, FSH/50i and 720p50 on SanDisk 95MB/s SDHC 32BG cards (and faster). I've also successfully tested HBR/25p mode on a SanDisk 30MB/s 16GB card (24H requires a faster card). Spanning not yet tested. In camera playback works.

Stable settings for high bitrate 720 60p?
I'm looking for a higher bitrate patch, ~ 100mb/s, at 720 60p for the use of slow motion with Twixtor. I've discovered that having a higher bitrate can dramatically improve the results, but am having a hard time finding advice for a stable high bitrate 60p patch.
Good patch for this use?

Settings for aerial videos s800 zenmuze GH2
Hello there, I tried different setting in the GH2, I tried Flowmotion, Moon7, Moon 5, Sedna, Sanity, Unified 88, trsut me, a lot others, but they crash on my Sd card, I have the Sandisk 64 gb 95 mb/s Extreme pro, I use Nebula 7 and Nebula 5 and they work very good, why the difference?...can anyone help me wich one is better for aerial video in a zenmuze, and I use HDMI, so is 1080 I 25p in PAL, thanks everyone for your help...

i loaded a certain ini setting onto ptools yesterday and saved it as an .bin file. But now im not certain which one it is, beaceause ptools has saved 2 settings.
Is there a way to read the .bin file and see the settings?

AVCHD VS MJPEG
Hi everybody.
Thanks to every workers and tester for your job.
I see lot of post about Mjpeg vs avchd, the majority of people say avchd better than Mjpeg. But today I'm not sure...
I was making a shot test between 24h/HBR/Mjpeg with "Driftwood Cluster X series 3:│moon T7" The scene is very contrasted with highlights and black.
I prefer Mjpeg...!!! Because the noise is the same and I see more details and more sharpen.
I want know if somebody testing Mjpeg and say the same thing.
25p and 2K possible? with the option Mpjeg fps of ptools?
The time limite?
Mjpeg in 2K 25p no limited time, It 's dream for me.

Quick clarification for general functionality of GH2 hack
Hi, so I just hacked my GH2 with some of the latest Driftwood patches...can't wait to shoot!!
I just want to clarify something first, which I think I understand but haven't been able to empirically confirm yet...
So, the functionality of the GH2 NEVER changes with any of the hacks right? Only what goes on behind the curtain, I.E. Framerates are specific to shooting modes and don't change unless specified in the patch notes, Intra is applied to all modes (unless otherwise specified), same with GOP, Quant etc etc etc.
The only exception being higher ISO settings.
If this is true, then (since I just bought the GH2) getting accustomed to the functionality of the camera is really unrelated to the hacks/patches and http://www.personal-view.com/faqs/gh2-usage/gh2-usage is all I need to 'learn' the camera.
The hacks/patches are a sort of 'silent' upgrade to what happens behind the curtain or lens correct?

Hacking electronic gearing of panasonic lenses?
I have attempted to find where to locate this post and I hope this is right.
Just bought an Edelkrone FF for my GH3 rig and it is really nice but a thought occurred to me. The "throw" on the follow focus is very small when using the Edelkrone "tie-wrap" type gears, so I wondered if it is possible to affect the gearing ratio of the fly-by-wire focus of the Panasonic lens (especially 12-35 and 35-100). Would make subtle adjustments of focus a lot easier. I realise I could ask the same question of Edelkrone to see can they produce different gearing (unlikely it has to be said) or maybe could try a much bigger diameter lens gear, but a way to lower the sensitivity of the lens would be really handy (let you leave on lens gear...) - for me anyway.

Panasonic G3 Stable Settings
I managed to fix the writing error on the previous patches messing with the buffer size. Actually I put 170M bitrate and the small shootings I made really passed through with no errors! Since I am still learning about those settings, I would like to ask someone to analyze the data and see if I really got it. Annexed goes my patch.
I based my settings over Driftwood cluster v6 settings.

Settings for flat style
Don't know should i start new topic, but i do. Let stop to dancing around those settings :-) It's simple to get best quality with these settings which available for now.
All this tested on GF2, i think it's same for GH2.
Video Bitrate FSH/SH : you can set it for example to 200 000 000, final bitrate will depends on what quantizier you will set.
GOP Size : 1
Encoder settings 1 180i/p : 1 Without this video will very jerky.
Quantizier : depends on your card speed. Fast card needed. Take 32 for start number.
Quantizier table : all to be 1.
1080 Scaling I : all to be 0x0. First 16 part is for Y, second for Cb, third for Cr.
Table flag1 I : all to be 0x0. (Not shure affect this seting or not )
Table High I : all to be 0x0. (Not shure affect this seting or not)
And that's it. You should to set all picture adjustments to -2 except sharpness. This settings will give you image that very close to that what you see in live view.

Bitdefender stops Ptool and errors when writing fast SANDISK card
Two issues:
- When using PTOOL my virus scanner BITDEFENDER kicks in and stops the process, finding it a potential danger.
- When managing to install a hacked firmware on the GH2 equipped with a Sandisk Extreme Pro 32 GB 95 MB/s, even with a low speed hack of 44 Mbs, I get error messages on the camera that the writing speed is too high for the memory card. Don't know what's wrong. Can someone help? Thanks.

It's time for SANITY!
While great work has been done with the GH2 hack for improving the 24P picture, I've been dissatisfied with the quality of the 50/60P and 60i patches. The biggest problem is mud in the shadows, and that has been the focus of my work - to minimize it.
So, may I present 'SANITY' - the patch that DOES IT ALL, and at reasonable bitrates. 'SANITY' produces the best 50 and 60 fps pictures you've ever seen from the GH2! Plus a sane 24P setting that isn't going to bust the bank - bkmcwd's superb 66M GOP12.
"SANITY' is the patch I load into my camera and go out shooting, and don't worry about it anymore. And I bring back great looking footage no matter what mode I shoot in.
'SANITY' has exceptionally clean 720 50/60P and 1080 60i. And of course, 24P.
(however, I can't guarantee 1080i 50 because it's settings are tied to 24P)
For those interested, the key to increasing the quality of 50 and 60 fps, is to use a larger GOP than the stock setting.
1080 60i - GOP 18
720 60P - GOP 39
720 50P - GOP 30
When you do this, all the stars align and good things happen.
So, load it up and get a taste of 'SANITY'!

GH2 Flowmotion Hack HDMI Output for monitoring Camera changes from 720p to 1080i ?
Hi To all, I use the great flowmotion hack with a Pana GH2 but there is a problem, I record from a Octocopter (aerial movies) in 720p and send monitor picture via hdmi output to a monitor down to earth but sometimes the camera record in 1080i and after changing battery right in 720 p how can I solve this bug i used latest version pttools and flowmotion ... I recorded in Manual Movie Mode 720p FH Quality and converted the HDMI Signal to analog SD and send it to an external Monitor the result was 1080i/30 footage on my sd card ... my battery was empty while recording after changing the battery the camera recorded in true 720p/60! Are there any new solutions for this problem? For the problem recording in 720p on SD card while monitoring via HDMI output using analog converter... to external monitor Would be the sanity hack better for 720p ? Any experience in the community?

Perhaps the solution?! I found in the menu of the gh2 the hdmi output setting auto, 1080i and 720p It was on auto..... could changing the mode to 720p solve the problem perhaps.... Answer from "onlocation" There is no way to use the GH2 at 720p while using HDMI monitor. The way we solve the issue is to get a small cheap camera and aim it at the view finder. You can focus the lens on the small camera and focus the view finder, plus use a sun shade (gaffers tape all around) and you can get an ok picture, but it's not great. The best solution is to buy the GH3, one week after we got our we sold our GH2. GH3 is simply another level, if you are doing this seriously then don't even think twice, sell your GH2 while it is still worth something and buy the 3. Good luck.

GH2 1080/50fps... Possible?
Hi there, I'm shooting 1/3 of a music video here in North America and the rest of it is shot in Europe @ 50fps.
I did manage to hack the camera but @ 1080i it only shoots at 25fps (according to the info provided in Premiere when i import the footage) Cant find any threads in regards to this and this is my last effort to find out this answer. Thanks for your attention.

Hello everybody, I got a very strange problem with a hacked GH1. After several experiments with all kind of settings now it seems that I cannot stop the camera creating bitrates over 100 Mbit/s anymore, doesn't matter how I change the settings with PTool and what firmware I use. Sounds really stange, but even when I return to the official firmware of Panasonic, the framerates are boosted beyong 100 Mbit/s in hightly detailed scenes, so even the fastest SD cards sometimes could not write fast enough. Other things, like 30min restriction, went back to normal after reinstalling the official firmware.
I'm already using PNY class 10 32GB with 100 MB/s and Transcend class 10. MY body has Serial-Number WE9KC001772.
Any suggestions?
